11 эмбриональные стволовые клетки
[греч. embryon — зародыш]тотипотентные клетки, выделенные из ранних эмбрионов (напр., клеток внутренней клеточной массы бластоцисты). Э.с.к. обладают способностью давать начало почти всем типам клеток организма (по меньшей мере 350 различным типам) и эмбриону в целом. При определенных условиях in vitro они способны неограниченно делиться без изменения фенотипа и генотипа. Основной источник Э.с.к. — клетки внутренней клеточной массы бластоцисты. В экспериментальной биологии Э.с.к. мыши широко используют в опытах по нокауту и нокину генов (см. гена нокаут; гена нокин), для получения химер (см. химера) и др. Э.с.к. человека пытаются использовать для заместительной клеточной терапии при различных патологиях человека. Недифференцированные тотипотентные линии Э.с.к. были впервые получены из бластоцисты мыши в 1981 г. М. Эвансом (Нобелевская премия за 2007 г.) и М. Кауфманом; первые Э.с.к. человека получены Дж.
